All the tributes. All the hits. At your fingertips.
#LegendsOfReggae is a musical rockumentary paying tribute to the lives and music of reggae legends. The 2021 edition highlights the incredible career of Bob Marley. Music’s most iconic performers may be gone but our mission is to ensure they are not forgotten. #LegendsOfReggae serves to entertain, educate and inspire audiences by bringing together today's rising stars alongside legendary bands and nostalgic sounds.
Powered by TD Canada, and supported by Universal Music Canada, the iconic event has evolved from a live concert to an intimate and interactive series of performances with Q&A content – hosted by legendary TV personality Master T. Joining Ziggy Marley, Exco Levi and High Priest, and Jay Douglas is an impressive array of up-and-coming and established artists, including Kirk Diamond, The Recipee Band, Kim Kelly, Hardcore Band, and Chelsea Stewart. Each of the eight artists chose four Bob Marley songs to do in their own way; the performances will be released weekly throughout Black History Month.
Jones & Jones is behind the production of the event. With the recent passing of the company’s President, Denise Jones, music’s intrinsic ability to provide hope and promote unity, especially during uncertain times, makes this year’s event is an even more pivotal undertaking. “The Legends tribute has always been a hallmark affair for our company, but it goes without saying that this year, in particular, it is imperative that we shine a bright light on the people, like Bob Marley, like my mother, and so many others, who laid the foundation for the global distinction bestowed upon our rich, dynamic heritage,” said Jesse Jones, head of Jones & Jones. “Those who went before us to pave the way, but are no longer amongst us, must not be forgotten.”
